Tool: How to Rename an Office 365 User and the matching Active Directory Account

Renaming an AD user UPN, when syncing with Office 365

  1. Sign-into the Cayosoft Administrator web portal.
    (Cayosoft Administrator is free for business with less than 200 users)
  2. Click the Active Directory Administrative Unit then click AD Users
  3. Enter the name of the user in the search field and click Search Objects
  4. Click the check mark to the left of the user’s name
    Select User
  5. On the Actions menu, click Rename
  6. In the top half of the Rename dialog box, change the name as needed
  7. In the lower half of the Rename dialog box, check the options as neededRename Option - Update Corrisponding Office 365 User
  8. Click Update
