Microsoft’s Retiring Skype for Business Online on July 31, 2021—What to do

Since September 1, 2019, all new Office 365 customers have been on-boarded directly to Microsoft Teams as the default for chats, meetings, and calls. But what about the customers that have been using Skype for Business Online long before this change? Unfortunately, the end is near. Microsoft announced Skype for Business Online will be retired on July 31, 2021, and after that date the service will no longer be accessible.

I’m Currently Using Skype for Business Online

If you’re still using this tool within your organization, don’t start pulling your hair out just yet. Between now and the retirement, current Skype for Business Online customers will experience no change in service, and they’ll be able to continue to add new users as needed.
