Microsoft Updates Teams Members Limit to 5000

Have you heard about the increase in general availability of members in teams. Starting today, all new and existing teams can accommodate up to 5,000 members. That’s double the previous limit of 2,500 members! Larger groups can now collaborate effortlessly in a single team and leaders can connect with a broad audience within their organization.

To make it easier to get everyone into one team, Microsoft increased the e-mail distribution list import limit by over 10X from 300 to 3,500.

*This change does not apply to Office 365 subscriptions in GCC.

How does this impact me

You can now add up to 5,000 members to all new and existing teams. Also, you can import O365 distribution lists and security groups of up to 3,500 members in size.

What should I do to prepare for this change

The feature does not require any additional preparation from a user’s side and is automatically available to all users.
